| Description: | Position Title: Sr. Equipment Engineer Reports To: VP of Manufacturing Location: East Bay Company: Private BASIC PURPOSE OF POSITION Design and implement equipment for the manufacture of implantable medical devices. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: • Ensure that manufacturing processes that are capable of meeting performance, reliability, and cost targets • Develop and qualify manufacturing methods and associated documentation • Design and implement tooling, fixtures, and equipment as required to meet process capability, quality, ergonomic, safety, and cost/throughput considerations • Plan, develop, and execute experimental protocols as required to characterize and qualify sophisticated production equipment • Participate on new product development teams to provide pre-production manufacturing equipment and product design input required for commercial scale process development • Work closely with R&D, materials management, and quality engineering to assure that component and product designs meet manufacturability requirements REQUIREMENTS Education: Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering is required Work Experience: Must have 5+ years of previous experience in the medical device manufacturing environment and 10+ years of relevant engineering experience, including design and implementation of automated and semi-automated film processing and lamination equipment Must have project management experience/skills. Must be proficient with CAD applications (Solid Works experience is a strong plus) Must be challenged by a team-based environment which places high degree of emphasis on accountability for product and process development, cost reduction, and quality/GMP compliance. |
