| Description: | Job Title: V.P. Finance Department: Administration Reports To: President Summary: Directs all aspects of the company’s accounting, order management, and human resource functions, including the establishment and maintenance of principles, practices, procedures, and initiatives. Is a critical member of the Executive Team actively participating in business development of the organization while supporting and working with sales & marketing, operations, QA, and R&D. Prepares financial reports and presents findings and recommendations to executive management. Responsible for internal and external reporting and acts as a point of contact for other departments within the company, including the parent company, outside government agencies (tax, etc.), and outside professional service organizations (accounting, tax, banking, legal, HR, insurance, etc.) Manages and oversees the Order Management and Human Resource functions. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. • Analyzes critical financial information throughout the organization in order to make informed business decisions for business development and growth of the entire company. • Develops systems and processes to ensure the accuracy and completeness of all company accounting books and records, including producing monthly, quarterly and annual reports to provide local and corporate management with critical financial information • Develops internal accounting controls and accounting procedures and policies to insure accuracy of information provided by all departments. • Be a business partner with the Vice President of Operations and team to ensure continuous improvement in manufacturing operations and costs. • Responsible for compiling information in order to forecast company business activity and financial position in areas of income, expenses, and earnings based on past, present, and expected operations. • Directs preparation of company-wide annual budgets and prepares necessary supporting documentation and justification. Work with local and corporate management team to ensure understanding and compliance with the budget process. • Develops annual spending budgets and quarterly spending forecasts for the administrative department. • Coordinate communication with all relevant tax authorities. • Coordinates audit activity with parent company and outside auditors. • Manage, monitor and continually develop local sales order processing including interface with the operations organization • Manage and insure the human resource function is in compliance with local statutes and corporate policies and procedures. • Ensures that the G&A functions scale appropriately with the growth of the overall business • Special projects as designated by the President Supervisory Responsibilities Directly supervises employees in the Accounting & Order Management and HR departments. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the company policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education and Experience BS Degree in Accounting, advanced degrees strongly preferred CPA preferred 15+ years accounting experience, with significant experience in a manufacturing operation. 5+ years management related experience Experience in a public company and SEC related experience required Federal and state income tax related experience Language Skills Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. Mathematical Skills Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. Reasoning Ability Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Computer Skills To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Accounting software; Access Database software; Internet Explorer; Microsoft Office Suite. Experience with Oracle and Great Plains a major plus. |
