| Description: | Title: Sr. SQA Engineer Reports To: Manager of SW Development Location: South Bay Company: Public SUMMARY The Sr. SQA Engineer will be a key contributor to the product development efforts, and is expected to collaborate within a cross-discipline team setting of developers, QA engineers and product managers to formulate, implement, execute, and where appropriate automate, effective and efficient test strategies. RESPONSIBILITIES • The Sr. SQA Engineer will have opportunities both as a hands-on project test lead and as an individual contributor. Within a project test lead role, the selected candidate may participate in requirements, functional specification and design reviews, and have the additional responsibilities for creating test schedules, test plans and periodic test reports. • The Sr. SQA Engineer must also work within the team to continually identify process and procedural areas for improvement, and take the initiative wherever possible to innovate and bring new methodologies to the team. KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS • 5+ years of overall software quality assurance experience, with exposure to the full product development cycle - from requirements through post-release. Able to formulate and implement effective test strategies, and identify areas for efficiency improvement through automation. • 2+ years experience with testing of embedded systems and environments. Embedded Linux experience would be a plus. • Experience in a regulated industry, medical device or diagnostics. • Experience in risk management and design controls. • Experience creating test schedules, detailing test plans, executing manual and automated tests, and consolidating test results and completing test reports. Must possess good documentation skills. • Ability to represent SQA in project teams, to lead other SQA team members in completing tests and resolving findings with SQAlEngineering and other functions when necessary. • Experience interfacing with software developers on "upstream" improvements that lead to more efficient "downstream" QA test cycles, such as collaborating with developers in designing for testability, leveraging development unit test programs, and participating in code/design reviews. • Effective communicator of process and technical concepts, and is comfortable crosstraining staff. Must possess good communication skills. • Able to adapt QA methodologies and industry-standard "best practices" in a "time-tomarket" driven software development environment. Stays current with new technologies. • Routinely demonstrates flexibility and is a capable multi-tasking. EDUCATION • B.S. degree in Computer Science, or equivalent technical discipline. |
