| Description: | Title: Sr. Software Engineer - Embedded Reports To: Manager of SW, Embedded Location: South Bay Company: Public SUMMARY The Sr. Software Developer (Embedded) position is with the embedded software development team working on devices and related peripherals. Qualified candidates will have industry experience developing C applications and working with Linux kernels and applications. Candidates must have solid specification, design, development and testing skills honed through multiple development cycles from inception to release. RESPONSIBILITIES: • Supporting and enhancing the companies existing embedded applications. • Designing new embedded applications and writing related specifications and design documents. • Implementing new embedded applications using C, Python and Linux scripting languages. • Building and configuring Linux applications/utilities typically used in embedded systems. • Customizing and building Linux kernels, drivers and root file systems. • Testing embedded applications. KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS: • 5-10 years of Linux embedded software development experience in the C language. • In-depth knowledge of Linux kernel and the Linux kernel configuration and drivers. • Good communication skills - able to draft high quality specifications and documents. • Knowledge of medical design control processes such as IS013485. EDUCATION: B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent technical discipline is required. |
